Custom art pieces can include a painting to hang in your office or home, unique art for a book or album cover, presentation, and more!  

My Process for creating custom artwork:

How a custom piece works- the process:

We book a 15 minute consultation to discuss your idea and see if it is something I can work with

If it feels like a yes on both sides, we meet for at least an hour to deepen into the vision and get more clear on what I will be creating for you- some helpful things to bring to your appointment would be reference images, your own sketches or collages, written description of the image, preferred colors, examples of artworks that you find inspiring (including my own work if a certain piece has drawn you in and there are elements of it that you enjoy).  We may also need to book a photo session if you want a figure or face in your painting.  I often will use photos of clients as references for figures and portraits, even if the image desired is not a realistic portrait, as it can help to integrate the energy and intention into the custom piece.   

I ask for a down payment of at least $250 or 25% of the total cost, whichever is greater.  Once I receive the first payment I will begin to gather supplies and start working on your piece.  

I prefer to do custom pieces using acrylic since the drying time is fast

I start a piece by doing a meditation, opening ritual, and put the first layers on the painting.  

Once initial sketches and impressions are made, I will send you some photos of the piece in progress, which I will also do throughout the creation process at agreed-upon intervals.  

The creation process can vary greatly in length of time needed depending on the project, so we will need to discuss this in our appointment.  

In the early stages of the painting, you will be able to give feedback and request changes.  After a certain point I will communicate when making changes is going to be more difficult or could result in a price increase.  

When the piece is completed,  I will invite you to my studio to pick it up if you are local, or I will ship to you.  I like to complete commission pieces with a closing and naming ceremony, in which the client gets to name the piece and take it home

I will also ask you in one of our earlier meetings if you are ok with me including the finished piece on my website or social media page, without identifying you as the client.  I will not make prints or other merchandise of your custom piece as it is created just for you.
